Showroom Manager/Interior Design Assistant

Job Description: Showroom Manager/Interior Design Assistant for small home furnishings showroom

Our perfect candidate has 3-5 years experience as an Interior Design Assistant or Junior Designer and has previous design-related retail experience. Are you looking for a more hands-on approach to all types of creative high-end interior design projects and feel a connection to our design aesthetic? This may be the perfect role for you!
Job requirements and responsibilities include:
- Oversee opening and closing the store and all daily store tasks.
- Manage store work schedule and Showroom Assistant's duties
- Manage all Shopify Point of Sale (POS) and any e-commerce duties - including order entry, images, inventory check-ins and storage needs at Bleu
- Manage and execute all creative and branding, including all store visuals, social media/marketing/PR branding related to Bleu and all related photo shoots
- Manage regularly rotating store visuals
- Manage sourcing and purchasing of new product offerings
- Manage any store events such as seasonal events, pop-ups, special promotions, trade events/meetings
- Manage in-store design consultations and retail special orders
- Collaborate with Marketing Intern to manage store outreach: target new customers, specifically reaching out to trade relationships (other designers and vendors) - through email/mail chimp, instagram, text/SMS
- Initial intake of new full-service clients, vetting project at discovery call
- Interior Design Assistant responsibilities for The Pankonien Group (20 hours per week): CAD/Google SketchUp/Chief Architect drafting of floor plans and detailed elevations, sourcing for interiors and renovation projects

Hours: 40 hours per week, M-F 9:00-5:00

Pay: From $25/hour based on experience

Junior Designer/Project Manager

The Pankonien Group (TPG), a residential interior design firm in Austin, is seeking a Junior Designer/Project Manager to join our team! Ideal candidate is an organized self-starter who can work side-by-side with our Principal Designer on a dynamic roster of projects - ranging from whole-home interiors to large-scale kitchen renovation projects managed by our in-house team. Our small firm allows a great opportunity to experience all aspects of a successful residential design business in a fun, flexible environment.

Our projects include whole house interior design and furnishings; space planning; lighting plans; construction finish specifications; cabinetry design; accessory and art styling. Day to Day Tasks:

- Manage client design projects including all project management and interior design

- Project Management: Manage all aspects of client projects including budgets, timelines, purchasing, spreadsheets and contractor and vendor relationships

- Interior Design: Source fabrics, furnishings and construction finishes; Design and specify custom furnishings and lighting; Use design trade software to manage client projects; Create client design boards; Assist with room installations and photo styling

Skills Necessary for Success:

- 3-5 years previous Interior Design experience

- High-level knowledge of CAD software

- Takes ownership of tasks

- Well-skilled at prioritizing tasks and time management

- Provides regular updates and follow up

- Has working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

- Access to reliable transportation to/from work, project field visits and design showrooms in Austin

Hours: 40 hours per week, M-F 9:00-5:00

Pay: From $28.00 per hour
